ALL CUBA MOTORCYCLE TOURS ARRANGED BY CHRISTOPHER P. BAKER ARE U.S. LEGAL UNDER THE 'SUPPORT FOR THE CUBAN PEOPLE' LICENSE
Although U.S. travel restrictions are still in effect regarding visiting Cuba, every U.S. citizen can legally travel to Cuba, pre-approved, under the “Support for the Cuban people” license for cultural exchange. This license permits travelers to stay as long as desired, and on dates of their own choosing. (Additionally, group travel is still legal, pre-approved, under the "People-to-People" license, with the proviso that individuals must be accompanied by a guide throughout and may not arrive early or extend their stay.)
Your custom itinerary will be arranged under provisions of the "Support for the Cuban People" license.
The trips that Chris arranges and leads are designed to maximize “support for the Cuban people” through stays at private B&Bs, meals at private restaurants, and interactions with artists, private tobacco farmers, owners of private restaurants, autonomous community projects and, of course, harlistas (owners of pre-revolutionary Harley-Davidsons) and other Cuban motorcyclists, intended to promote independent activity that strengthens civil society.
Likewise, Chris ensures that the custom tours he designs avoid all use of hotels etc. operated by Grupo Gaviota (the Cuban military-run tourism entity) and similar entities, in accordance with a recent ban for U.S. citizens imposed in 2017 by the Trump administration and currently still in effect.
NOTE: It is the responsibility of individual U.S. citizens to review existing OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) regulations, which change frequently, to ensure each traveler’s compliance.
